How much money do people collecting welfare in Canada receive?

I am writing an opinion paper on welfare in Canada. And I need some numbers of what people in different situations with different dependants recieve...how much money, what costs are cut down for them, food banks, other benefits they recieve, etc...and general opinions are welcome too. Thanks in advance.

How much money do people collecting welfare in Canada receive?
Hello,

That depends on the province but here are the stats for singles and families:

http://www.ccsd.ca/factsheets/fs_ncwpl01...

Also they do not have to worry about medicare payments to the government which Alberta has and there medicnes and dentla are covered as well. Still, it is certainly not the life of Riley and does not encourage people to stay on it. Many still have to work under the table for cash which of course leads to exploitation and ripp offs since any extra income must be reported and deducted from these payments.

Cheers,
