How much money should I bring to Cancun?

I'm staying for a week in an all inclusive hotel. I'm not a big shopper but i'll probably buy SOME things to take back home. I want to visit some other resturants, I would also like to snorkel, and do the dolphin swim thing. Maybe even see the Mayan Ruins. I want to have enough money to not worry about running out, but I also don't want to go over board. Maybe you guys can give me an Idea of what to bring. Hotel will be paid for this is strictly for spending money.

How much money should I bring to Cancun?
There is a possibility for every budget.

Ok, swimming with the dolphins costs about: $80 (dollars).

The trip to Chichen Itza, with guide and the bus, and lunch (all day) is about $50 (dollars).

If you want to visit Coba in a jungle tour (zipline, swimming, ruins) it is a bit more than $100.

If you eat a piece of pizza is $1.00 if you want to go to a restaurant and order a glass of wine, it would be about $35-$50, depending on the wine.

If you go clubbing, each drink is about $5 to $10, plus about $30 admittance.

Snorkeling out on the reef is about $5 or $30 if you grab a boat.

If you want to go to X-caret or Xel-Ha it is about $60, lunch not included and they don´t allow you to bring food from outside (people feed the animals, and they die).

Sometimes you will be required to use ONLY biodegradable sunscreen or none at all, bring it from home, here everything is imported and expensive (about $20).

If you rent a car, the cheapest is about $50 per day, plus gas (about $40 per tank) and insurance (about $15).

Taxis are about $30 to $40 to town, depending on where you are staying.

Handcrafts, ok, so they have very unique things here, you can buy maracas for a buck or a wooden carved statue for $1,000.

Walking in the beach= 0.00

Grabbing a beer in a beach bar= $3.00

Window shopping= 0.00

Meeting people= 0.00

Hope you have a lot of fun, and do not go overbudget!!!
Reply:Here's the real answer: Twice as much as you were planning on.

Those people above don't know you and neither do I so we really don't know what you can afford to do. But my experience has always been I never bring enough money. You don't have to spend it, but at least you will have it if you need it.
Reply:I think first yoiu gotta know what iss your budget,. Because iam also going on a trip to Cancun Next year. ANd iam thinking on a budget of $500 but iam taking $1000 you just in case. But I will exchange only $500 first than in case i need more i Will echangeit.

You might want to exchange what you think youre going to spend. Because for example in my case If i would exchange the $1000 and would only spend $500 When i go back to change the resting money they are going to give you $500 back they will probaly give you like $400 back. HAve FUN
Reply:I too, am going to Cancun for about a week in an all inclusive hotel and have thought (or am STILL thinking) about how much to take.

I have a friend who just went on a cruise and she said she spent around $500.

I was thinking about taking that much as well.

Just be sure that you exchange your money before you leave. It's less of a hassle.

Have fun! I'm sure we will!
