My mom thinkss I am responsible %26amp; I have a dog already so I think that I am. I work at a stable every saturday and in return get free lessons %26amp; take my regular lessons on tuesdays. I know alot about horses because I have been obsessed with them since about before birth. I know that they are alot of work and need alot of attention %26amp; depend on us to feed/exersise them and other things like that. I asked my mom %26amp; she said that if she had the money that she maybe would let me lease a horse. She just doesnt have alot of money because she is a single parent right now. Any things I can do to help?
How do I raise enough money for leasing a horse?
It depends on how old you are, but I paid for my riding lessons and horse leasing for 4 years by babysitting and working at the barn after school. Once I had enough riding experience, I talked the private boarders into letting me exercise their horses for them for free so that I had a horse to ride and didn't have to pay for a lease. I also had another friend at the barn and she and I set up a tack cleaning business just within the stable. There were about 25 boarders and we charged $15 to clean and condition girth, saddle, and bridle. We made sure to clean the "old fashioned" way with saddle soap, oil and sealers rather than using those "one step" products and everyone was very happy with their shining tack and most of the boarders had us clean their stuff once a week or every other week. Many of them even gave us tips on top of our regular fee. It was a big hit - everyone hates tack scrubbing and would love to have someone they know and trust do it for them!
Good luck!
Reply:get a job...part time if ur in school...save up
Reply:make a stand and sell stuff to get money
Reply:don't know where you are but if you are in the US you could see if you could get a camp horse, they get loaned out from about sept to may and all you have to pay for is care/board - you could maybe work something out with your stable that you could get a discount on board in exchange for working there (more). you could also babysit or see if other ppl at your stable will pay you to work their horses for them.
Reply:Some stables have "work to lease" programs where the student works off their lease, rather then paying money. Perhaps if this is an option, it would be something to think about given the situation.
Good luck to you, and your love of horses. Never lose it!!
