How much money will it cost to start a vending stand at the outlets?

I am very passionate about making money. I know that in order to start a kettle corn stand I will need to pay alot of people. I want to do it the cheapest way I can. How will I do this and what sort of numbers am I looking at here?

The outlets and malls have a business office, and that'd be the first step in seeing what can be done.

You'd need to see if they have an opening for you (only a certan number of spaces are given out each year), and you'll need all your own equipment, they ONLY supply the rental space you'll be setting it on.

They most likely will want a monthly rent AND a percentage of your sales when it reaches above a certain amount. I looked into it at the Grand Avenue Mall, they wanted 20% after I'd made the first $1,000 in sales per month, plus I'd have to pay $1,500 a month in rent. Seemed like highway robbery to me, so I said no and looked for a different way for myself.

They'll have it all on paper, you need to call the mall in advance, set up a meeting date, bring your info about what you have, what you think you can sell there, especially during holiday hours, and work it out from there.

It MAY be more cost effective to look at vending at local festivals and art shows. An awful lot of popcorn, caramel corn and toasted nut people are at the ones between September and January in our area.
Reply:First you need to call severel fairs and festivals to see what they charge for space.

Then you need to consider purchasing equipment. Also you will need a health permit because it is food.

You can start opperating it yourself and getting help from friends and family.and go from there.
