I have around a year to raise the money.

You need to find out the cost of living in the state and city that you plan to move to.


Do you have a job already lined up? If not, then you might want to have enough saved to get by on until you find one.


I think a good rule of thumb would be to have enough saved to pay rent, utilities, and food for at least 4-5 months.
