When I log in it gives me a wire #, and I need to send money to another bank that owns a car I'm buying. Will the other bank have a wire # or do I have to send it to the guy selling the car? The guy is selling it to pay off the loan on his car.
*I'm out of checks and my bank is too far away to get a cashier's check. I can't withdraw money because it only allows $400/day.
How can I wire money from my bank account to another bank?
You will need your Banks Routing Number and your Account Number. The Routing number is nine digits and can be found on one of your checks, as well as your account number. You can call the bank directly and give them that information. Make sure the guy you are being the car from lets the bank know what is going on and he will have to sign the title over to you along with the bank. Make sure that is all set up before you pay it off. Be sure you go through his bank to get this done because your bank will charge you a $25-$50 transfer fee to transfer the money. Not that it matters because I know you are Ballin' like that!!
Reply:Do you have a personal banker or bank officer that you have come to know? Bank wires usually require some verification by the sending bank that it is your money and that you desire to send the wire. Your bank will want to know the information that the other bank providing you so that the receiving bank can credit the money to the correct transaction. My banker also calls the other bank as a courtesy to verify they have the correct information.
I would send it to the bank to be paid off with instructions that they take the car payoff and give him the remainder. There is a comment section in the wire transmission form. Otherwise, there is nothing to prevent him from collecting the bank wire and not paying off the car.
Unless your bank account package includes free wires, there is a reasonable fee to send the wire.
Reply:you need a wire number for the bank you are sending your money to. so, to answer your question, the other bank has to have a wire number for you so your bank knows where the money is going to.
