If you want to start a childs bank account, how much money do you need to start with? I am going to do it with Bank of America
How much money do need to start a childs account with Bank of America?
It depends on which state you reside in. If you live in CA, WA, or ID I don't know. BofA has different operating procedures in those states. In any other state, the account is typically opened with 5 dollars, however to avoid maintenance fees the account will need to keep a minimum balance, usually $300. Or if you set up your checking account to automatically dump 25 dollars into the savings you will also avoid this fee as well. Make sure to speak with a personal banker at your branch, they can fill you in on the rest of the details or notify you of any specific details.
Reply:Go in to your nearest branch and just ask. Some branches are not as strict on the amount you have to have, especially if its just for a little kid's account; while others could want $100. The branch I work at, we'll take whatever is in the kid's piggy bank (even if its just $1) to start up a savings for them...
Just go check at your branch... I'm sure they'll work with whatever you have to deposit.
Good luck :)
Reply:I think saving is 50. You might check there website though.
