How much money do you have left after bills?

I ask because I just bought my first place yesterday. My boyfreind and I stay with about $1100.00 after paying bills that includes everything food, mortgage, gas, credit cards (only have one), insurance, etc. Is that sufficient money left after paying bills?

I actually budget savings FIRST, rather than saving what happens to be left over. I save over $1,000 per month in my 401(k) and max out my Roth IRA every year, but I don't save anything beyond that (because I already have an emergency fund, CD's, and a nice portfolio of stocks and bonds).
