Where and how can I find people to donate money to help us buy the church?

My grandfather is a preacher. After being a pastor at many churchs he decided to start his own. He and some fellow members found a church. Where and how can I find people to donate money to help us buy the church? The people that own it are being nice enough to let us use it till July. Where we live the economy is poor. We need 60,000.00. What ever money is donated and not used we plan to send back. And if we do not raise enough money before July we plan to return all donations to the people who sent them. Then you can always try, car washes, bake sales, dinners, a lot of companies will donate items to help you with sales. You can also do silent auctions etc.

Reply:You can apply for a grant. Several religious institutions have been funded by The White House Initiative For Faith Based Organizations. It is a good place to start. This grant does not require you to match funds and are offered yearly. Good luck.
Reply:car washes (asking for donations for your cause) work really well. advertise through christian radio stations!, go to other churches and share what you wish to accomplish. you'd be surprised by how generous people are.
