How do i deposit money to a bank that's in another country?

I'm about to send someone in Australia money through the common wealth bank. How do I do this? And since i've never met them and have only had contact with them through e-mail and one phone call how do check and see that i'm sending the money to the right person and not to someone who hacked into their mail and is cheating me.


P.S. I'm sending money to them because i'm going to be taking a course there.

See if you can wire the money to them. They can get the correct wire instructions from their bank to get money deposited directly into their account. You should be able to arrange with your bank to transfer funds using those wire instructions. I don't know if there would be a charge from your bank to do that. If there is, it shouldn't be a lot and is worth the peace of mind that the money has been transferred safely and doesn't get lost in the mail.
